Dr. Simon McMillan is the Head of Department, Science at Kaikorai Valley College, Dunedin, New Zealand. He also heads the collaborative Urban Farm project at his school in association with the community and four primary schools students and teachers. Together they are developing learning activities that showcase Science, Technology and Sustainability in an agricultural context. Simon teaches General Science, Chemistry, Earth Science and Education for Sustainability in a teaching career of close to 20 years. In 2004, he gained a Royal Society of New Zealand Teaching Fellowship setting up a real time water quality monitoring station in a local stream and was the Sir Peter Blake Environmental Educator in 2008.
