Profile

Eric Park teaches music at Chapel Hill Seventh and Eighth Grade Center and is a leader in the school community. As an active musician himself, Eric believes that studying music is about the joy of discovery. He has found many ways for his middle school students to pursue musical independence using their own creative expression, which is his ultimate goal for them. He implemented a world drumming program and an after-school guitar club, both of which became performance ensembles. As a band director, he started a brass choir that met after school and performed flawlessly at the Indiana State School Music Association. Eric shifted the jazz band curriculum to one that is rooted in musical improvisation. He has arranged several popular songs for the concert band in order to engage students in learning music relevant to their own lives.

Eric is a professional in every aspect of his craft.  He nurtures positive relationships with his students and the community, and he presents outstanding high-quality concerts.  With a music curriculum that centers on the long-term growth of his students as musicians and learners, he sets high standards and works tirelessly to help each student to be successful.
