Q&A

How has INSPIRE and/or the School of Education helped you grow as a future teacher?

INSPIRE and the School of Education have helped me learn more about the topics surrounding education that I hadn't known much about beforehand but have always been interested in exploring. They have encouraged me to go out and get involved in the community, whether that be helping at a school or going to an event around campus! As a future teacher, it's important to be involved in the community and be knowledgeable about education and areas related to it. INSPIRE and the School of Education have both helped me in doing so!

What has been your favorite experience as a member of the INSPIRE LLC so far?

My favorite experience has been making connections with other people on the floor. INSPIRE has so many events throughout the year that help people connect (my favorite being Cookies & Canvas, where we eat cookies and paint!) and building those relationships has been so much fun! Each year, the floor is different, so getting to experience a new environment and energy as well as meeting new people is a lot of fun!

What influenced your decision to become a Peer Mentor?

Overall, I love the environment on the floor. I love how this floor really encourages everyone to have a good time, learn from one another, and support others as well. INSPIRE has been my family and my home away from home and I've made some of my closest friends through INSPIRE, including my current roommate! I wanted to be a Peer Mentor to help foster that environment and watch others grow and thrive throughout the year!

INSPIRE is an amazing way to meet new people and learn more about different topics related to education. If you are looking for a community of people who are passionate about education but are also very supportive, INSPIRE is the place for you!
