How has INSPIRE and/or the School of Education helped you grow as a future teacher?
INSPIRE and the School of Education have helped me grow by providing resources to practice working with students and also by helping me make connections with other future educators.
What has been your favorite experience as a member of the INSPIRE LLC so far?
My favorite experience is for sure the friends I have made in INSPIRE. I love being able to talk to and connect with such a wide variety of people.
What influenced your decision to become a Peer Mentor?
The thought of being able to help others and make a whole bunch of new friends influenced my decision.
I have had so many deep discussions about issues in education with people in INSPIRE, and I love it! Hearing multiple people’s perspectives is super enlightening and interesting.
What are some of the responsibilities you have as a Peer Mentor?
Some of my responsibilities include being a helping hand when needed, but also to be an automatic friend for those in INSPIRE.
Do you have any advice for anyone who might be thinking about applying to INSPIRE?
I would tell them it is totally worth it! You’ll make all sorts of new friends within days. I would also tell them not to stress too much and to not be afraid to ask for help every once in a while.
What would you say to someone considering joining INSPIRE?
I would tell them to bring lots of stickers and craft supplies. Everyone will love you for it.
