How has INSPIRE or the School of Education helped you grow as a future teacher?
The main way I would say INSPIRE has helped me grow as a future educator comes through the interactions you experience on the floor. There is a wide variety of individuals living here and hearing everyone's personal thoughts and opinions can greatly help to refine your teaching knowledge and philosophy.
What has been your favorite experience as a member of the INSPIRE LLC so far?
Enjoying welcome week as a freshmen, additionally though hosting welcome week as a peer leader.
What influenced your decision to become a Peer Leader?
I wanted the chance to bond and learn from a wonderful group of incoming freshmen, while additionally helping the freshmen adjust and orient to college life.
[INSPIRE] is a wonderful community where you will meet many great people. It is a great way to find a group of friends and develop a support system, whether that be academically or emotionally, early on in college.
What are some of the responsibilities you have as a Peer Leader?
We put on welcome week events, and host fireside chats and cultural excursions for the freshmen. Throughout the year we provide emotional support for struggling freshmen and generally I would say just try and ensure that the freshmen have a smooth transition to college life.
Do you have any advice for anyone who might be thinking about applying to INSPIRE?
Go for it, apply! It is a wonderful community where you will meet many great people. It is a great way to find a group of friends and develop a support system, whether that be academically or emotionally, early on in college.
What would you say to someone considering joining INSPIRE?
I would say there is no harm in joining really. You should do it as the community is great and makes the college transition much easier.
